Matching Grant

Literacy for a Lifetime is a 50% matching grant program. We can match a grant or donation you have received through businesses, foundations, or individuals. We can also work with you to find funding sources.

For example for a $1000 grant, your organization will receive $1500 worth of books! The minimum grant amount is $250.

In 2015, we partnered with SICM (Schenectady Inner City Ministry) and First National Bank of Scotia to provide over $1800 in free books to kids in free summer lunch program through the Literacy for a Lifetime Matching Grant Program.

Some examples of eligible funding organizations:

  • State and Federal grants
  • Corporate donations or grants
  • Foundation or Friends of the Library grants
  • PTA/PTSA/PTO grants
  • Individual donations
